Church Planter in Dallas, TX
All Saints Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking to call a highly experienced and capable pastor to plant a CREC church in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will be an outstanding preacher, a seasoned counselor, a discerning theologian, and an energetic leader with a vision to build Christ’s church in maturity and size by proclaiming the whole counsel of God.
Dallas lies at the heart of one of the most rapidly growing metropolitan areas in the US, with a population of over 4 million. It is a hotspot of interest in CREC-related content (see the HotSpot Project), and has great potential for a CREC church plant. All Saints is committed to financially supporting the Dallas Church Plant in its early stages, in the prayerful expectation that it will rapidly become self-supporting, and in partnership with All Saints will become a hub for future CREC church plants in the region.
Character and godliness
An established reputation for personal holiness; a history of faithful, peaceable, and sacrificial Christian service; clearly demonstrable faithfulness as a husband and father; a man of prayer; a hospitable family man; a track record of financial responsibility.
Training and experience
Formal theological training to M.Div. level (strongly preferred, though equivalent informal theological study may be considered); at least five years’ experience in pastoral ministry (more experience preferred), including regular preaching, teaching, pastoral counseling, and leading worship.
Theological convictions
Theological commitments must be in accord with our confessional statements (WCF and TFU), and with the distinctive liturgical and theological commitments of the CREC (including paedocommunion, Christian education, and an optimistic eschatology).
Work ethic and teamwork
Proven capacity for sustained hard work; high level of personal organization and efficiency; the ability to contribute with insight and clarity in group discussion; team player able to function well alongside other pastors, elders, deacons, and church members.
Preaching and teaching
Demonstrable excellence in preaching and teaching the word of God in public contexts; unwavering commitment to the centrality of such teaching in promoting Christian maturity.
Pastoral counselling
Significant experience in handling complex pastoral situations with Biblical insight, wisdom, and sensitivity; easily able to get on with many different kinds of people.
Leadership
Track record of Christian leadership guided by Biblical principle, with proven capacity to lead towards unity without compromise.
Philosophy of ministry
Wholehearted commitment to promoting Christian maturation through regular corporate worship, faithful proclamation of God’s word, sacrificial service, and the cultivation of a Christian culture in church and home; careful avoidance of unnecessary disputes with other believers; desire to draw unbelievers to Christ by manifesting his love and righteousness; no desire to cultivate a personal social media following.
